Description

Kumbaba Motel, introduced to the district's tourism sector in 1953 by journalist and author Turan Aziz Beler and the first establishment in Şile to hold a tourism operating certificate, is preparing to welcome visitors again before the 2021 season following restoration work in 2001. A popular stop for visitors, especially from European countries, for 48 years, Kumbaba Motel housed many archaeological artifacts during that time; the artifacts at the motel were later taken into the care of İstanbul Arkeoloji Müzesi. Distinguished by its architecture and landscaping, Kumbaba Motel was the 41th facility in Türkiye to receive a tourism operating certificate when it was founded.
