Description

This community center provides women subjected to violence and their children with psychological, legal, employment and social rights support. Following an interview with our social workers, women and children affected by violence are referred to relevant support services for accommodation, psychological support, legal assistance and social rights. The Women's Solidarity Center is not a shelter; it serves as a community space offering psychosocial support to women and their children before and after shelter stays. Our center has a psychologist, a lawyer and employment office staff. It organizes training and awareness activities on gender equality by developing relations between our Women's and Family Services Directorate and civil society organizations. For women and children visiting to participate in activities or seek support concerning violence, our facilities include workshop and training rooms where women can spend a few hours away from home and take time for themselves, and a meeting room available to civil society organizations. The Women's Solidarity Center within KDYM, where women can receive support before and after violence and seek assistance with earning a living while rebuilding their lives, along with our Equality, Children and Youth Services units, operates during weekday office hours. On days with events, workshops and performances, our center also operates outside office hours and on weekends.
