Dikilitaş Semt Evi was established by Beşiktaş Municipality (Beşiktaş Belediyesi) on 11 March 2008. Serving Dikilitaş and surrounding neighbourhoods, the community centre offers educational courses for children and adults. All Beşiktaş residents can also use its healthcare services free of charge. Educational courses run in cooperation with Beşiktaş Halk Eğitim Merkezi include computing, English, Spanish, effective communication, skincare and makeup, creative drama, wood painting and jewellery design for adults over 18. In summer, additional classes such as computing, English and mathematics are offered for children. Beşiktaş residents attending courses receive a certificate of participation upon completion. The courses are free and open to everyone living in Beşiktaş. Dikilitaş Semt Evi has one doctor, one psychologist, two nurses, two care assistants and three “Home Social Support Vehicles”. These vehicles provide examinations and treatment for patients unable to leave their homes. Each vehicle is staffed by a doctor, a nurse and a driver. Dikilitaş Semt Evi continues to provide services ranging from education and healthcare to psychological support and handicraft courses. The community centre is open every day of the week throughout the year.
